>Naraku and Kagura walked through the streets, the former being slightly confused, with the latter being extremely cheerful. They got weird stares and glares from passerbies.
>"Naraku, why are the people looking at us?" Kagura said, smiling widely as she looked at her bodyguard and friend.
>"I... Think it may be my outfit...?"
>Naraku began to grow more and more aware of the stares every few steps, and realised that it was definitely her outfit. While it may have given her some sort of prestige in the village, her priestess outfit would only hinder her here.
>"Well, wanna dress up then? I'm sure it'll be fun!"
>"Well..." Thinking back on the magazines that were often sent her way to keep her from getting too bored while taking care of the sphere, Naraku thought of something. "That sounds good, yeah..."
>They briefly wandered, but quickly found a clothes store. Luckily it wasn't extremely expensive, giving them plenty to work with in terms of their reasonably limited budget.
>Immediately Naraku gravitated towards a sweater. It was still rather cold outside, and her village had always been relatively warm even in the winter. It helped that this one had extremely convenient pockets... And the striped sleeves were sort of fancy as well.
>She grabbed a black one, and tried it on in a changing booth, together with a white skirt. Said skirt was almost irrelevant because of the size of the sweater, which easily covered her panties up, but it was nice to be safe rather than sorry.
>"Nice..." Naraku said, admiring herself in the mirror. However, she still felt like her outfit was a bit... Incomplete. She went back to the clothes rack, and soon found something she liked: an orange hoodie. It was practical and stylish at the same time. Well, it would be practical, but for some reason it was rather small. However, she only found out about its size issues when she had already put it on. She would have put it back, but seeing how Kagura's face lit up when she tried it out made her change her mind.
>She started looking for more things to add to it, wanting to make the absolute best out of it. After all, they probably weren't going to a clothes store again for a long time.
>She put her pouch on again, the green bag and the belt it was attached to looking surprisingly good on this outfit. However, she was starting to consider starting over from scratch. It just seemed rather convoluted to her, at this point. And the two layers might interfere with her mobility.
>She was about to change back to her priestess outfit in order to redo the whole thing when Kagura ran back into the dressing stall.
>"Naraku! Look, I found this! Like it?"
>The young deity held a red scarf with some white lines on it, and a white, wooly ball at the end. It looked silly, but... It was a gift from Kagura. She couldn't say not to it. Well, she could, but she immediately grew attached to it. She knew it was an odd thing, but she really liked it already.
>Putting it on, she looked at it in the mirror.
>"See? It matches the rest!"
>"Yeah, it does..."
>Naraku changed her mind about starting all over right then and there. Kagura liked it, and that's all she'd need from it. She put on her old yin-yang necklace again, and dug into her pouch for her shinobi stones. One for running speed, one for stamina. Definitely enough good luck for their travels. The socks and sandals she already wore were more than good enough for her legs as well.
>The two paid for the clothes, and left the shop satisfied.
>A few days later they faced their first yõma. While it wasn't a genuine threat, it did manage to get Naraku's shoulder, cutting into her clothing. After she dispatched of it, she decided to simply cut out the shoulders, leaving the lower part of the sleeves to keep her warm.
>"Hey, Naraku?"
>"Yes, mistress Kagura...?"
>"I like it even more now!"
